Welcome to Vertebrate Histology (ZOO 4753)! zoom in on histology, is an interactive website designed by Dr. Wilfredo Lopez-Ojeda, PhD and Dr. Yamel Ramirez, DMD. All light micrographs (LM’s) were prepared by Drs. Elizabeth Escarria, DMD and Wilfredo Lopez-Ojeda, PhD.; and edited by Dr. Wilfredo Lopez-Ojeda, PhD. The electron micrographs (EM’s) originate from varied resources. This Website will serve as your online resource for the course and is required for both, lectures and laboratory components throughout the semester. Outlined below are a few of the features of this site. Please familiarize yourself with them. All material herein, is password-protected. All rights reserved. Illicit access and unauthorized copying or reproduction of the materials will be considered a violation of copyright. The author has chosen WordPress Inc. as an independent web resource external and isolated from the University of Central Florida (UCF).

The home page will serve for class announcements. Be sure to check the site frequently, every week to keep yourself abreast of new announcements, including changes in schedules, lab review sessions, etc.

If an announcement has Comments enabled, you may post comments, suggestions, or questions pertaining to that post. Keep your comments brief and appropriate. For private communication, always use email.

    I’m want to be able to look at slides of cells and identify them better than what I can do now, because right now it is a huge weakness and most of the time I don’t know what I’m looking at.

    Continuing now to fulfill some pre-requisites for medical school and to also further my knowledge of the field of medicine. From what I have been told by current medical students, histology is certainly worth taking to prepare you for medical school. I also find histology fascinating and look forward to learning a lot in this class.
